- Maximum lintel spans are based on a maximum total sheet roof mass of 40 kg/m² (Table 47) or tile roof mass of 90 kg/m² (Table 48), including framing and ceiling, and a maximum flooring mass of 40 kg/m². For guidance refer to Appendix A.
- These lintels are not designed to support concentrated loads.
- Lintels to internal wall openings supporting floor loads only shall be sized as bearers.
- Lintels in gable or skillion end walls not supporting roof or floor loads shall be determined per Clause 6.3.6.3.
- Minimum bearing length = 35 mm at end supports. Values shown as (+Xmm brg) require additional bearing beyond the 35 mm minimum.
