Tables 47 & 48 Notes

  1. Maximum lintel spans are based on a maximum total sheet roof mass of 40 kg/m² (Table 47) or tile roof mass of 90 kg/m² (Table 48), including framing and ceiling, and a maximum flooring mass of 40 kg/m². For guidance refer to Appendix A.
  2. These lintels are not designed to support concentrated loads.
  3. Lintels to internal wall openings supporting floor loads only shall be sized as bearers.
  4. Lintels in gable or skillion end walls not supporting roof or floor loads shall be determined per Clause 6.3.6.3.
  5. Minimum bearing length = 35 mm at end supports. Values shown as (+Xmm brg) require additional bearing beyond the 35 mm minimum.
