Table 27 — Strutting Beams supporting roof loads only (no ceiling load component).

Sheet roof: maximum total roof mass 20 kg/m². Tile roof: maximum total roof mass 60 kg/m².

A minimum initial clearance of 25 mm shall be provided at mid-span between the underside of the strutting beam and the tops of ceiling joists, ceiling lining or ceiling battens.

Multiple members shall be nailed together per Clause 2.3. Minimum bearing = 70 mm at end supports.

Where depth-to-breadth ratio > 3:1, provide G.I. strapping restraint to top edge at strutting points and beam ends (Clause 7.2.26).

Spans are independent of wind classification.
