Table 26 — Strutting/Counter Beams supporting combined roof and ceiling loads (max ceiling 12 kg/m²).

Sheet roof: maximum total roof mass 20 kg/m². Tile roof: maximum total roof mass 60 kg/m².

Effective beam spacing (CLW) = x/2, where x = total of hanging beam spans either side of the strutting/counter beam.

Where hanging beam spans are not the same each side, use the average of the spans.

Multiple members shall be nailed together per Clause 2.3. Minimum bearing = 70 mm at end supports.

Where depth-to-breadth ratio > 3:1, provide G.I. strapping restraint to top edge at beam ends (Clause 7.2.26).

Spans are independent of wind classification.
