- Maximum lintel spans are based on a maximum total sheet roof mass of 40 kg/m² (Table 17) or tile roof mass of 90 kg/m² (Table 18), including framing and ceiling. For guidance refer to Appendix A.
- For lintels supporting concentrated loads refer to Table 20.
- Lintels to internal wall openings supporting ceiling joist only shall be sized as hanging beams.
- Lintels in gable or skillion end walls not supporting roof loads shall be determined per Clause 6.3.6.3.
- Minimum bearing length = 35 mm at end supports. Values shown as (+Xmm brg) require additional bearing beyond the 35 mm minimum.
